The lovely bay of Stafilos is a wonderful setting for the limited number of apartments and villas that sit on the hillside rising above the twin beaches of Velanio and Stafilos. Linked by a footpath, and within an easy walk of each other, these are two of the islands' most picturesque and beautiful beaches with their crystal clear, sparkling waters and uncrowded sand and shingle shores.
Both beaches can be reached either by foot (ten minutes there down the steep winding road - a bit longer back!) or by car in a matter of minutes. There is a pretty cliff-side taverna perched just above the bay overlooking the gently lapping sea - and we would definitely recommend a stop off here in the early evening, as the sunsets are truly breathtaking. Surely there can be no better way to round off a day spent relaxing on the beach?
Locally, there are a couple of excellent tavernas serving good traditional fare and a mini market which can supply you with all your daily essentials including fresh bread - whilst just a ten minute drive away is the lively waterfront of Skopelos Town with its extensive choice of shops, tavernas and cafés.
