Property details

A smart family villa close to the pretty beachfront at Agios Stephanos

As you approach Villa Eleni you'll immediately be struck by the breathtaking sea views across to the mountains in Albania. The elevated position and raised pool terraces of this recently built villa make the most of this hilltop setting.

Within a two minute drive is the pretty harbour of Agios Stephanos with its choice of tavernas, a beach, and even a couple of low-key cocktail bars when you fancy a little night life. Here you can hire a boat to explore the bays and coves which make this stretch of Corfu coastline so wonderfully picturesque.

Villa Eleni is beautifully presented and it's peaceful ambience is accentuated by light, spacious interiors. A fully-equipped modern kitchen adjoins the open plan living area which includes a table for six and lounge area complete with sofas and a TV. French windows leading out onto a raised veranda that overlooks the lovely garden and pool terraces - perfect for al fresco dining!

The generous pool measures 7.5 x 5m (depth 0.9 to 1.8m) and the garden, which includes both paved and lawned areas, is great for children. Sun loungers and parasols make this the perfect place to relax and enjoy the warm Corfiot sunshine. The garden also features a large brick-built barbecue.

When you are ready to turn in for the night there are three air-conditioned bedrooms. The master double is on the ground floor and there are two twin rooms on the first floor. Each room has an ensuite shower room and glass doors opening out onto a terrace or balcony. The large first floor balcony is the perfect place to take evening cocktails!

Location

Agios Stephanos, Corfu

The pretty little harbour of Agios Stephanos is renowned as being one of the most attractive places to stay on the upmarket north-east coast of Corfu.

This picturesque fishing village has a charming, traditional feel to it but offers a choice of shops, some excellent tavernas - we particularly like The Eucalyptus, and a couple of quite sophisticated bars for those looking for some nightlife.

Agios Stephanos has its own small beach with wooden jettys which are ideal for sunbathing or fishing and you can rent a boat here if you fancy touring the pretty bays that run up and down the coastline.

The blue flag beaches at Kerasia is only a twenty minute walk away through some lovely countryside, and the stunning Avlaki beach which has two tavernas and a sailing school for windsurfers and dinghy sailing, is a 5 minute drive away.

Agios Stephanos has a lot to offer its guests; a beautiful little harbour with a great choice of facilities; blue flag beaches on your doorstep and wonderful views over to the mainland. Little wonder that visitors choose to return to this spot time and time again.

Why Holiday in Corfu?

Corfu is one of the more popular Greek holiday islands and is well served by charter and budget airlines. This beautiful, lush green Greek island comes as an unexpected and unforgettable surprise for first time visitors. Avoiding the busier south, SunIsle offer hand-picked properties among the picture postcard fishing harbours of the north-east and sandy bays on the west coast.

Of particular note is Kalami, a small and "un-touristy" resort with plenty of tavernas, small shops and charm. Slightly further up the coast is the swish bay of Agios Stephanos, where boats pull up to the sea-front tavernas and you can swim from the beaches into the sheltered waters.

How To Get There

Flights to Corfu are available from the following UK airports:

Belfast, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Cardiff, Doncaster, East Midlands, Exeter, Gatwick, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, Luton, Manchester, Newcastle, Norwich, Stansted, Teeside.

Customer Reviews

Feedback on Villa Eleni ...

The owner of the villa was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. (August 2009)
Villa Eleni was a comfortable property with a lovely pool. (July 2009)
Villa Eleni is really lovely, and the views from the upstars balcony over towards Albania were magnificent - so the location was spot on. The pool and garden were clean and well maintained, and the villa itself was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. Superb. (June 2009)
Villa Eleni is magnificent - the most comfortable we have stayed in. There were only two of us and we wanted something really special. This was it. (May 2009)

Lots of plus points, especially the pool, which we made good use of. (May 2008)
First Class. (September 2007)
The villa was very nice, clean and comfortable. (September 2007)
Really lovely, perfect for what we needed. We were not aware of quite how steep the walk was from the villa to the tavernas in St Stephanos!! (May 2007)

Agios Stephanos, Corfu ...

A very quiet and beautiful place - highly recommended. (September 2009)
We felt that we were definitely staying in the best area on the island. (August 2009)
We were near to some lovely tavernas and the supermarket, but were still relatively private. (July 2009)
Agios Stefanos is a peaceful, quiet, relatively unspoilt and friendly place. It reflects some of the atmosphere of a small rural Greek Island holiday resort, say 25 years ago. There is a kind of sleepy feel to it during the hot shimmering afternoons, which wakes up in the evening with good food, music and wine, but retires to bed before getting too rowdy. Easy access to Agni and other good eating places. The low key atmosphere in the village suited us very well. (June 2009)
Agios Stephanos is one of the most beautiful areas of Corfu, with wonderful views of Albania and very friendly local people. (May 2009)
Agios Stephanos is great. Go there - relax, enjoy, eat drink and be merry in local tavernas. (May 2009)
In a lovely location near to some great local restaurants. (September 2008)
Couldn't fault anything about the property or the location. Great views and good tavernas. (July 2008)
Lovely, peaceful and quiet and easy to get to other locations. (June 2008)
The villa was close to lots of resorts which were very family friendly. (May 2008)
Very select, quiet but with all the facilities which we required in and around the resort. (September 2007)
Area was attractive with good local ammenaties and friendly approachable locals. We would say a car is essential though. (September 2007)
The location was very peaceful with great views. St Stephanos is lovely. (May 2007)

Customer Service

The website had excellent photos and descriptions. All of our questions were answered politely and accurately and it all felt very personal. (July 2009)
Great service. It's so good to deal with people rather than the faceless front of a huge organisation - and it was great to be treated as an individual from start to finish. The personal touch was very much appreciated. Your rep in the resort was very helpful and knowledgable. It was good to know she was so familiar with the location. (June 2009)
This was a wonderful holiday. Your rep on Corfu is a lovely girl and went out of her way to make this holiday special. Your website was clear and straightforward and gave a very good description of the villa. I don't think you could have improved a thing. (May 2009)
Everything involving SunIsle was as good as it could be. I cannot identify any aspect of the service I received which needs improvement. Everything was great, you do a superb job. Thank you. (May 2009)
Great service. Our rep was excellent and dealt with our questions very quickly. (September 2008)
We had an excellent time and had no need to contact your rep except for the transfers. (July 2008)
Both SunIsle and our rep in Corfu did everything they could to ensure our holiday lived up to our expectations.
(June 2008)
Excellent service - from arranging the car hire on our behalf, meeting us at the airport and providing a welcome pack, which was particularly useful as we arrived late at night.
(May 2008)
Very polite & helpful. Very good written directions from Airport to property. Excellent welcome hamper! (September 2007)
Very good and efficient. Directions to the villa worked well and the welcome pack at the villa was appreciated (September 2007)
Customer services staff were excellent (May 2007)

Other Comments

I would suggest a car is really necessary. Walking down to the village takes about 15 minues, but walking back up the hill takes a lot longer, especially on a hot afternoon. (June 2009)
Probably best to have a car. The hill down to the village is fine, but coming back would be rather a sweat, especially carrying shopping. (May 2009)
Hire a car or moped to get to the village and back unless you don't mind a 15/20 minute walk (with great views!). (July 2008)
Just enjoy - because I know we did. (May 2008)
We really benefited from having a hire car which I would say is a must. (September 2007)
The SunIsle package is good and we would certainly use you again you made the whole experience easy. (September 2007)
Our holiday was very good indeed (May 2007)
