When you arrive at The Vineyard you'll drive along a pretty tree-lined lane to your holiday home set in 22 acres of lush vineyards and olive groves. What could be more idyllic?
Villa Vineyard is a modern villa finished in a rustic style with stone walls and exposed beams. The villa offers spacious interiors, large shaded terraces and a private swimming pool, surrounded by terraces where you can relax on the sun loungers and soak up the sun. The pool measures 8m x 5m (depth 0.8m - 1.5m).
Entering the villa you'll find lots of sunny space that nevertheless remains cool due to stone walls, high timbered ceilings and it is of course air conditioned. There is a fully equipped kitchen with all mod-cons, room for six around the dining table and the option of a shaded terrace with barbecue that is ideal for al fresco dining.
The master double bedroom has its own private terrace with an adjacent modern bathroom with shower and w.c. Upstairs there is a twin bedroom with a private balcony, and a seperate mezzanine area with a single bed ideal for a child over 5 years old. There is a second shower room with w.c. and wash basin. This property will comfortably accommodate a sixth person for whom a fold-up bed can be provided.
This is a distinctive property in a fabulous rural location, surrounded by vines and olive trees - your own private holiday escape.
Maherado is the second largest village on the island, with a population of approximately 10,000 people. Maherado has some of the best examples of traditional architecture on the island, and is particularly famous for the church of Agia Mavra, which dates from the 14th Century and has a splendid collection of painted frescoes and icons, the Venetian belfry is most impressive with bells that are said to be - The most melodious in the whole of Greece.
The village is approximately 7 km west of Zakynthos Town set in a rural landscape surrounded by olive groves and redolent with the fragrance of pine trees. Although it is a traditional village there is a wide range of tavernas, shops, kafenion and a weekly market.
The celebrations of the towns - saint day - in honour of Agia Mavra is one of the biggest festivals on the whole island and takes place on the first Sunday of June, when the whole town turns out to dance in traditional customs and eat delicious spit roasted lamb.
Hot summers and warm evenings are assured on this southernmost Ionian Island. Visitors will find established resorts with plenty of amenities and activities to keep the children busy.
We specialise in Zante villas and apartments outside resorts and in quieter areas on the island such as Bouka and Vassilikos. Enjoy the calm turquoise waters that lap golden beaches along the South coast or explore the more rugged Northern corners of the island. Shipwreck Bay (Navagio Beach) and the Blue Caves are certainly worth seeing.

No family holiday to Zakynthos would be complete without a trip to a waterpark. We can confirm that these are great fun for all the family, including slides, pools, rafting or just lazing by the waterside.
Zante is known as the most important nesting ground for the endangered species of loggerhead sea-turtles, the Caretta-Caretta, and a national marine park had been created to protect and preserve these creatures. During the summer months, holidaymakers can visit Kalamaki or Laganags and take a glass-bottomed boat trip to view the turtles in their natural habitat and even swim with them.
