The entrance to the cottage ('kalivi' in Greek) leads to a single room with sofa and a central dining table. The country feel is evident in the décor with its corner fireplace, pine furniture and traditional built-in sofa. The small kitchen is situated just off the sitting room and is adequately equipped for simple meals with a small cooker that has two hobs. There is a lovely covered patio with sea views to Glysteri bay, located just outside the front door so that serving meals is easy and convenient. The w/c shower room is also found on the lower level of the house.
From the sitting room, there is a steep ladder-like stairway which leads to the upper-level bedroom. The ceiling is open wood beamed and the pine is carried through to the flooring in this room. It is cozy and comfortable and furnished with a double bed and small sitting area with table and chairs next to a low window. There is a romantic feel to the entire house but especially in this spacious bedroom under the slanted roof rafters.
The best asset of Fotinis Kalivi is its outdoor spaces and levels of outdoor terraces. Near the house is a covered patio facing down the valley to the sea and has a built-in BBQ for ease in creating wonderful al fresco meals.
The next level up, just above the house, is the private pool with spacious terraces where the sun shines till the early evening hours. For those times when shade is preferred, there is an additional terrace, covered by a gazebo from which the views are stunning facing to the sea at Glysteri beach. These private terraces make the perfect setting for morning coffee, a romantic meal or just a glass of ouzo as the sun slowly sinks behind the hills.
Fotinis Kalivi is a great choice for couples who want a peaceful and romantic holiday in a very private setting. The covered patio with built-in BBQ and gazebo terrace, give lots of areas spend the long warm days in comfort and tranquillity.

The area surrounding the kalivi is perfect for those looking for peace and privacy. Although the cottage itself is in a rather isolated position at the bottom of a long driveway, it is only a short drive to reach the town of Skopelos where there is a complete array of waterfront restaurants, cafes and shops. The beach of Glysteri which the cottage overlooks can be reached in less than 10 minutes by car. Glysteri Beach has a lovely waterfront taverna which specializes in seafood and the stony beach has some of the clearest waters on the island. The beach of Glyfoneri is even closer to the cottage and is a lovely small beach with several choices of traditional tavernas overlooking the sea. There are plenty of hiking and walking trails throughout the area including trails leading to the other side of the island.
The fact that there is no airport on Skopelos can only enhance your holiday as it means that none of the big package holiday companies go there.
To get to Skopelos you fly to Skiathos from either Birmingham, East Midlands, Gatwick, Manchester or Newcastle with most flights departing on Fridays. From Skiathos you take the Flying Dolphin which takes approx. 1 hour to reach Skopelos.
You will be met at Skiathos Airport where a taxi will be waiting to take you to the port for the next available hydrofoil or ferry. Another representative awaits your arrival on Skopelos.
Skopelos can also be reached by ferry from Agios Konstantinos on the mainland.
