Villa Ulysses has been newly refurbished for the 2009 season, it was originally split into to two high quality apartments and retains an element of being ‘self-contained’ so is also a great choice for two families holidaying together but wanting some privacy.

The spacious accommodation includes a fully-equipped kitchen, separate dining and lounge areas on the ground floor, as well as a second lounge on the first floor. The ground floor lounge opens onto a large pool terrace, the upstairs lounge has double glass doors opening on to a large terrace which is furnished. Both terraces have wonderful panoramic sea views. There are double and twin bedrooms on the ground floor that share a downstairs bathroom with shower and w.c. On the first floor there are two further double bedrooms and a second bathroom.

Location

Fiskardo, Kefalonia

Villa Ulysses is situated on a densely wooded hillside comprising ancient olive groves and stands of cypress trees, just a four minute walk along a country lane from charming Foki beach with the harbour at Fiskardo a five minute drive.

Approximately 50km from the island capital of Argostoli, Fiskardo was thankfully cushioned from the 1953 earthquake by the bed of limestone beneath this attractive fishing harbour. Venetian architechure is still prominent and a small museum at the top of the harbour displays pictures charting its history.

The waterfront is home to serveral good tavernas as well as cafe-bars and craft shops. Daily ferries from Fiskardo run to the port of Frikes in Ithaca and to Vassiliki in Lefkas, or hire a boat to explore the coves and lagoons along this pretty coastline.

Why Holiday in Kefalonia?

Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian Islands, but among the least commercialised. The coastline offers mile after mile of sandy beaches and unspoilt rural areas that are waiting to be explored.

The weather on the island of Kefalonia consists of rainy winters and dry, hot summers. With higher winter rainfall, Kefalonia boasts verdant plains, forests and hillsides dotted with grazing mountain goats.

Great food is certainly a feature of Kefalonia. Feta cheeses from goats and ewes milk, olives and fresh fish from the ports at Sami, Poros, Argostoli and Fiskardo are among the islands' specialities served at excellent tavernas across Kefalonia.
