Location

Lourdas Bay, Kefalonia

Approached from a lane leading up from the village square there is easy access from Villa Amoudia to the beach and facilities of the ever-popular Lourdas village. Yet the villa's location still retains a strong impression of being in a rural setting.

The village of Lourdas is situated behind one of the longest beaches on the south coast of Kefalonia. It is a small resort with traditional Greek accommodation and about twenty or so tavernas and bars at its heart. An old favourite on Kefalonia, it has visitors, who come back year after year.

Why Holiday in Kefalonia?

Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian Islands, but among the least commercialised. The coastline offers mile after mile of sandy beaches and unspoilt rural areas that are waiting to be explored.

The weather on the island of Kefalonia consists of rainy winters and dry, hot summers. With higher winter rainfall, Kefalonia boasts verdant plains, forests and hillsides dotted with grazing mountain goats.

Great food is certainly a feature of Kefalonia. Feta cheeses from goats and ewes milk, olives and fresh fish from the ports at Sami, Poros, Argostoli and Fiskardo are among the islands' specialities served at excellent tavernas across Kefalonia.
