The main entrance opens into a large hallway area furnished with two divan sofas which can serve as an open plan sleeping area. To the right of the hall is a spacious well-equipped kitchen with a large dining table looking out to the pretty covered terrace which runs the length of the house. From one end of the kitchen there is access to a w/c shower room and on the opposite end, double doors lead to a small living room with one single bed, traditionally built fireplace and en-suite w/c shower room. There are French double doors leading out to the same terrace and the sea can be seen in the distance.
From the entrance hallway, a pine stairway leads up to the master bedroom with a double bed. This is a cozy room with windows facing out to the sea. The entire house is simply, but comfortably furnished with lots of pine wood and fresh checked fabrics throughout. All the rooms on the ground floor level have access on to the main sun terrace, which is partially shaded by a grapevine and leads to a barbeque area.
The villa is reached by a stone path from the coastal road and is surrounded by terraced gardens, with olive, lemon and almond trees. A great feature of the house is its spacious BBQ area and its plentiful spaces for al fresco dining with fabulous sea views. The lengthy terrace has several areas to sit out offering sun, shade and views of the picturesque port of Steni Vala, the sea and neighbouring islands.
The house is situated just above the tiny fishing hamlet of Steni Vala and is located approximately 10 km east along the coastal road from the town of Patatiri. This is one of the most picturesque villages of Alonissos, with its local tavernas offering freshly caught sea food and some very pretty beaches close at hand.
A foot path descends through the trees at the front of the house, to a small beach next to the Steni Vala port, a walk of approximately 4 minutes. It is also possible to walk to the nearby Glyfa beach. In addition to the selection of waterfront tavernas there are a couple of mini-markets.
Along the port in high season, you can also find water taxis departing for the beautiful beach at Aghios Dimitrios. The village is also serviced by local bus and taxi. A hired boat can be moored here to give easy access to the rest of the islands beaches.
The fact that there is no airport on Alonissos can only enhance your holiday as it means that none of the big package holiday companies go there.
To get to Alonissos you fly to Skiathos from either Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Gatwick, Manchester or Newcastle with most flights departing on Fridays. From Skiathos you take the Flying Dolphin which takes 75 minutes to reach Alonissos.
You will be met at Skiathos Airport where a taxi will be waiting to take you to the port for the next available hydrofoil or ferry. Another representative awaits your arrival on Alonissos.
Alonissos can also be reached by ferry from Agios Konstantinos on the mainland.
