Those considering a holiday on the Greek island destination of Alonissos may want to include a visit to Chora during their stay.
Perched high above the location's main port at Patitiri, this village could offer some of the best views of the surrounding landscape.
The destination itself could be charming, with an old windmill and narrow streets.
Also known as Palia Alonissos, this town is accessible via bus or for the more sporty, by a 30 to 40-minute walk up a goat track.
The cafes and tavernas could be a great place to take in the scenery and enjoy the local delicacies of souvlakia (skewered meat) and grilled fish with herbs.
Local wines could be on offer to accompany fried calamari or lobster spaghetti.
The nearby beaches could be one of the biggest attractions of this area as well.
Accessible by foot, west-facing Vrisitsa may be a place to take in the sunset, while Vithisma could be well adapted to windsurfing and other water sports.
The small cove of Mouritias has both shade and seaside tavernas to hand.
