Holidays to the Greek islands often include trips to Paros, which is accessible via ferries and aircraft and has become really popular in the last decade or so.

Once there, the Church of a Hundred Doors - or Panaya of Ekotontapyliani - could be worth a look for those who want to see some historic religious sites. It is located in Parikia.

Inside is the Chapel of St Nicholas, which is the oldest temple on Paros. It is thought to have been built at the beginning of the fourth century.

The main temple includes square pillars and domes with paintings and antique style.

Across the Orthodox East, the oldest baptismal font is believed to be the one at the Church of a Hundred Doors, according to its website.

Also dating back to the fourth century, the vaults and dome are made of coloured limestone and there is a cross-shaped marble font.
