Santorini white wine praised by specialist

Those considering travelling to the Greek island of Santorini may be interested in one wine expert's words on the best whites to look out for.
Wine Spectator writer Thomas Matthews recently praised Domaine Sigalas Santorini 2008.
He enjoyed a glass of the wine with a fresh grilled snapper at a Greek restaurant and found it complemented the dish very nicely.
"Made from Asirtiko, an indigenous variety to the island, Domaine Sigalas' wine was nervy and refreshing, with just enough weight to match the delicate fish," Mr Matthews noticed.
Other Santorini wines to recently get favourable reviews from the publication include the Boutari Santorini 2008.
Boutari Santorini Kallisti Reserve 2007 was also found to be meriting their expert attentions, so visitors to the island may want to make a note so they can request a glass or two on the terrace of a seaside taverna.
