Santorini praised by travel writer

Judging from the remarks of one travel writer sent on a Greek island holiday by a voyage publication, the sojourn is every bit as good as the reputation - and maybe even more so.
The tourism supplement in Spanish publication Tabasco Hoy sent an eager correspondent out to what they said was an "irresistible invitation to submerge oneself in a historical, artistic and glamorous fantasy that begins in the birthplace of civilisation".
One of the highlights of the writer's trip was seeing Santorini from afar - "the clusters of white buildings hanging off the cliffs like clouds bearing their blue adornment".
After arriving and exploring the tranquil and winding streets, the author of the piece was struck by how genuinely picturesque it was.
Those visiting Santorini may find that in addition to the town and the mountaintop vistas, the beaches are worth spending afternoons on.
