Kefalonia is 'poetry in motion'

A travel correspondent has called the Greek island of Kefalonia "poetry in motion".
Writing for the Daily Mail, Victor Sebestyen praised the beauty of this holiday destination.
He particularly enjoyed the "delightful" harbour village of Assos, which had recovered with grace from the 1953 earthquake.
"Some of it has been lovingly restored, while other parts, with magnificent old Venetian buildings, have been left alone," he said, adding: "It adds to the charm that some of the village looks as though it's crumbling away."
The location of the port was also part of its attraction and he appreciated its "dramatic setting" at the foot of the island's hilly west coast.
Mr Sebestyen personally recommends relaxing with a glass of Metazas or retsina and looking out over the deep-blue sea - and visiting the ruins of the 16th century Venetian castle that overlooks the port could also be part of the itinerary.
Likewise, a trip to the nearby beach of Myrtos might be in order as it is often praised for its expansive beauty.
