Famous for being the place where the the Venus De Milo Milos was found, Milos is just a ferryride away from Piraeus harbour (Athens) in the Southwest part of the Cyclades. One of the most interesting natural features in Milos is its bay, which constitutes one of the biggest naturally formed ports of the Mediterranean.
Mykonos is a popular, cosmopolitan Cycladic island. The main town offers sophisticated bars and restaurants as well as chic boutiques and a maze of photogenic whitewashed alleyways and colourful bougainvillea. Excellent bus and water taxi services run from the town to the islands' numerous sandy beaches.
Paros is famed for it's famous Cycladic "sugar-cube" houses, sprinkled liberally over the hillsides and around the natural harbors formed by the island's coastline. For thousands of years the island's economy was driven by the delicate, white marble, famous for it's translucency and carved into many of the classic Greek artifacts housed in museums around the world. Still a Mecca for artists, who revel in the peace, creativity and the light. Between the miles of golden and sandy beaches are rugged cliffs and dramatic rock formations, evidence of Paros' volcanic birth. The seawater is crystal clear and warm enough to tempt even the most unlikely bather.
Paxos is a tiny gem in the Ionian with a relaxed, unhurried pace and genuinely friendly atmosphere. This remarkably verdant island is barely 12km by 4km, putting everything within easy striking distance. Indeed, its diminutive size and abundant flora and fauna make Paxos holidays a must for walkers.
Also known as Thera or Thira, Santorini is the southernmost member of the Cyclades islands. It is essentially what remains of an enormous volcanic explosion, destroying the earliest settlements on what was formerly a single island. Its spectacular physical beauty, along with cobbled streets and whitewashed buildings, have made the island famous.
The Greek holiday island of Skiathos is blessed with lush scenery and heavily forested mountains, and features the best beaches in the whole of the Sporades with golden sands shelving gently into the clear seas to provide you with safe bathing.
Midway between Skiathos and Alonissos sits Skopelos, the greenest of all the Greek islands with its captivating contrast of dense green forests and deep blue sea and sky. This is an idyllic land, a small piece of paradise in the very heart of the Sporades.
Zante, or Zakynthos as it is known, is one of our favourite Greek islands. The southernmost and reputedly sunniest of all the Ionian islands, Zante is also the most fertile, colourful and quite possibly the most beautiful too. We highly recommend our Greek island holidays on Zante.
